The Meccanica Segrino PN 10 service insulating joint provides very high durability, security and reliability performances thanks to the following characteristics:
- Monolithic joint.
Unlike insulating flanges or flange kits that are field assembled and tested, the Meccanica Segrino insulating joint is factory assembled, electrically tested and hydrostatically tested.
- Two metallic components for strength.
Compared to insulating joints made up of three steel parts, the Meccanica Segrino product only has two steel parts (Bell and Spigot). This characteristic reduces the risk of leaking as compared with the dual leakage potential of all other types of insulating joints.
- Sealing gasket for pressure retention.
The Meccanica Segrino PN 10 insulating joint is fitted with a sealing gasket that guarantees maximum levels of sealing under pressure. Furthermore, the sealing gasket is made of thermoplastic polyester elastomer, that makes the insulating joint suitable to conduct gasoline and other aggressive fluids.
- Insulating ring/spacer for dielectric integrity.
The insulating ring blocks mechanically the two insulating joint’s components and ensures the pipeline dielectric integrity.
- Hot forged bell for superior mechanical resistance.
The main component of the insulating joint (the Bell) is hot forged. This characteristic allows a high accuracy in the machining process and gives the insulating joint a higher resistance to mechanical stress than any other similar product available on the market.
